How do different forms of fulvic minerals differ, and how are they similar

This is a common search on the internet, because of the rise in popularity of alternative forms of trace minerals. Whether it is Celctic sea salt, Shilajit, or even herbals like Sea Moss that folks are considering as a source of trace minerals, many questions arise – particularly in the different forms of humates. I created this post to try and break down some of the differences (and similarities) between different forms of humic substances.

Humates are essentially a mineral pitch (black ore found in areas around ancient river beds, in mountains, and in other natural deposits) which is made up of ancient plant material. Even in your compost pile you might find humic and fulvic acid from the break down of plants, but over time humates mature and become extremely high in these hidden nutrients.

Shilajit refers to a type of humic substance which comes generally from high altitude mountains in Asia. If you prefer the raw resin, or even mixed into an excellent fulvic honey, I recommend the brand Black Lotus Shilajit – all of their products are third party tested to be safe and effective.
