What are the differences between Black Earth minerals and Shilajit?

WHAT IS THE BEST SOURCE OF HUMIC FULVIC MINERALS FOR THE CONSUMER

Many consumers have wondered what exactly the differences are between Black Earth minerals (the humic fulvic trace element blend by the Food Movement) and the supplement Shilajit are.  We see this reflected in many questions asked when they are faced with making a choice between these two types of products.

The first thing to understand is that both Black Earth and Shilajit are a type of mineral compound from the Earth called humates or humic substances.  Humates naturally contain humic acid, fulvic acid and over 70 mineral elements from the Earth.

(For specific details on what those 70+ minerals are check out this video.)

ISO tested for Fulvic and Humic Acid :

Ultimate Trace Minerals 10x, made with Food Movement’s Black Earth minerals, is one of the only products on the market tested with International Standards Organization (ISO) testing standards.  This means a quantified level of humic and fulvic acid that not every brand can deliver.  In fact many of the competitive products we have had tested fall short of their label claim, and often used vague potentially-deceptive labeling such as listing a “Fulvic acid solution” as an ingredient, which only truly contains a very small amount of fulvic acid.

Geographic Origins :

One key difference between Black Earth and Shilajit is that Black Earth is exclusively mined in the US in a single location.Shilajit, on the other hand, refers to humates that are generally wild-crafted in Asian mountain ranges.

The advantages of a domestic single-source are myriad, but also the type of humates used in Black Earth, as well Food Movement’s extraction process, yield a neutral-tasting solution that is completely ionic.  That means the minerals, as well as the organic acids, are completely dissolved as opposed to Shilajit, which is a thick resin that generally will need to be dissolved or extracted with some kind of solvent, preferably water.

Third Party Tested :

All Black Earth mineral products are third-party tested and manufactured in a GMP facility in the USA.  Some Shilajit products are too, but as with any supplement we take it is important to do our due diligence as a consumer to find a reliable company.  Shopping in independent health food stores is one of the best ways to do that.

The bottom line is that trace minerals with humic acid and fulvic acid are truly invaluable supplements.  They have natural antioxidant chaperones which can help escort mineral nutrients (as well as nutrients of other types) directly into the cells of the body.  The most important thing is to buy a reputable product in your local health food store, and to be educated about the specific product that you are taking.
