Nordic Naturals Now Offering Algae Omega Product Containing Vegetarian DHA and EPA

Nordic Naturals, the world leader in premium Omega-3 oils, has just released an impressive new product for those who choose to avoid animal products in their diet.  Nordic Naturals Algae Omega™ is the ideal vegetarian alternative to fish oil. Made from microalgae, it offers a plant-based source of beneficial marine omega-3s EPA and DHA without the use of fish. While most algae oils are short on EPA, Algae Omega’s unique combination of EPA and DHA is a pure, safe, and effective source of both of these essential fatty acids.

Since its inception, Nordic Naturals has consistently raised industry standards in the era of Omega fatty acids available on the U.S. Natural Products Industry market.  They have been the world leader in accountability, both in terms of environmental sustainability and purity of their products.  Because of this fact their Omega-3 fatty acid products have been used in over 40 published scientific studies, making them the world leader in quality.  Now these algae-based Omega-3s continue that tradition by maintaing a healthy heart and circulatory system, enhancing mind and mood, and supporting the natural structure and function of the immune system.

While vegetarian sources of Omega-3 have long been available in Flax or Chia seeds, as well as other botanical sources, these forms of Omega-3 are predominately in the form of ALA (alpha linoleic acid) a shorter-chain version of the Omega-3 which needs to be elongated by the body’s conversion mechanisms, into the eventual EPA & DHA forms.  Nordic Naturals Algae Omega provides a completely fish or other animal free form, suitable for both vegans and vegetarians; as well as those who are allergic to fish.

550 mg of EPA & DHA per serving is dispensed by a 1 mL dropper, and should be refrigerated after opening.  To ensure continued freshness, it should be used within 90 days of opening.

  1. Really glad to hear about this! I’ve been a vegan for 15 years, and have been supplementing with DHA, but am glad to finally have a plant sourced EPA. Thanks for the info.!
